Hudson turns back clock in Giants’ win over Arizona

The way Tim Hudson performed on Sunday, it’s only appropriate that his next projected start will be at the spot he enjoyed some of his best seasons.

Hudson, pitching like he was back in his 2000s heyday, worked six scoreless innings. And for the first time in three games, the Giants provided some run support, with Buster Posey’s three-run homer the big blow in a 5-1 win over Arizona.

Hudson, 40, earned his 222nd career win, most among all active pitchers.

The four-time All-Star is expected to start Saturday at the Coliseum against his original team, the A’s, and his opposing number might well be his friend and former teammate Barry Zito.
