How low can Giants go? Latest loss comes with a triple play

For all their offensive misery in a second half that is turning into the baseball equivalent of, well, insert your own disaster here, the Giants could not have guessed they would crap out the way they did in Friday night's 4-1 loss to the Nationals.

Triple play, anyone?

The Giants had the bases loaded and nobody out the eighth inning. They had a weak Washington bullpen on the ropes as Brandon Crawford stepped in against new pitcher Sammy Solis, a left-hander.

Crawford broke his bat on a low, soft liner to first baseman Ryan Zimmerman, who also just entered the game.
