Henderson, '86 Red Sox ALCS hero, dies at 57

Former All-Star outfielder Dave Henderson died Sunday morning, Major League Baseball confirmed. He was 57.

Henderson had recently undergone a kidney transplant, but USA Today reports Henderson's cause of death was cardiac arrest.

Known as "Hendu," he spent 14 seasons in the major leagues, playing for the Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals and San Francisco Giants.

In 1986, Henderson hit a ninth-inning, two-out, two-strike homer that lifted the Red Sox to a Game 5 victory over the Angels in the American League Championship Series.
