SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Gregor Blanco is back home.
In this instance, however, home is less a place and more of an organization. That organization is the San Francisco Giants, to whom Blanco returns this season after spending 2017 with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Blanco debuted with the Atlanta Braves in 2004, but it wasn’t until nearly eight seasons later when he emerged as a key utility player for the 2012 Giants. His defensive versatility allowed him to fill in as a reserve outfielder at all three positions, but it was his infectious personality and positive attitude that earned him a spot as both a team and fan favorite.
