The play that started it all. Not only is "The Catch" the most iconic play in 49ers history, it's one of the most iconic in NFL history.

Dwight Clark's outstretched arms with 58 seconds left in the 1981 NFL Championship Game, tied the 49ers with the Cowboys, 27-27. An extra point gave them the lead and eventual win. Clark's catch capped off an epic four-minute drive by quarterback Joe Montana with the 49ers down 27-21.

The 49ers went on to beat the Bengals in the Super Bowl that same season. It was their first of four in eight years.
