The Giants are limping into the All-Star break, and not just metaphorically. They’ve lost two regulars in recent weeks, as Mitch Haniger and Thairo Estrada were hit by pitches. Haniger broke his forearm in June and is out until late August; Estrada broke his hand Sunday and is out for the next four to six weeks.
Broadcaster Mike Krukow — never one to hold back — is furious about the spate of injuries. In an appearance on KNBR-AM on Wednesday morning, he uncorked a classic Krukowian rant, demanding a rule change or something to increase the cost of plunking batters.
