As recently as a few weeks ago, most people expected the rebuilding Giants to unload starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner at the trade deadline.
But now that the Giants have won 17 of their last 20 games and sit just two games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for the NL's final Wild Card spot, that expectation has clearly changed.
Prior to San Francisco's extra-inning victory over the Chicago Cubs Tuesday night, MLB Network's Jon Heyman reported that most people around the league believe Bumgarner will finish the year in San Francisco.
"Few see MadBum going anywhere now," he tweeted.
