SAN FRANCISCO – As job security goes, giving up nine runs in an inning isn’t such a great idea.
The Giants made another adjustment as they try to fill the long relief void on their roster, designating right-hander Vin Mazzaro for assignment and purchasing the contract of right-hander Albert Suarez from Triple-A Sacramento.
At least the Giants received one of their two injured regulars, as second baseman Joe Panik is back in Friday’s lineup after missing six games with a strained right groin. Left fielder Angel Pagan (hamstring) remains day to day, and could miss the remainder of the weekend.
