CHICAGO - The Giants' turnaround can be declared official. They won a game at Wrigley Field.
After losing nine of their past 10 games at the 102-year-old yard, playoffs included, the Joe Panik and the Giants surived a late scare to beat the defending champs 6-4, their ninth win in the past 12 games overall.
And it ended when Mark Melancon, the closer the Giants signed at great expense after they bowed out of the playoffs when they could not hold a three-run lead in the ninth inning against the Cubs, earned the save.
