SAN FRANCISCO — Brian Wilson shaved his beard about year ago, and it was akin to an archeological dig. Once he got deep enough into his mission, the former Giants closer made startling discovery.
“I was like, ‘Holy crap! That’s my face!”’ Wilson said.
Giants fans had a similar reaction Tuesday upon seeing the fire-throwing free spirit throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at AT&T Park.
Back into the fold for first time since his bizarre confrontation with team Larry Baer in 2013, Wilson got first-pitch honors during home-opener ceremony that included more than a dozen Giants luminaries, such as Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Dusty Baker and Dave Dravecky.
