In a season that includes more days off, as required by the labor agreement, the league somehow found a way to schedule the Giants for 36 games in 38 days.

Naturally, game 36 ventured deep into extra innings, an unpleasant development after the Giants finally solved a left-handed starter and score four first-inning runs.

Frustration turned to elation in the 13th inning, when Buster Posey banged a two-out single off the right-field wall, bringing Brandon Belt home for a 5-4 victory against the Cubs.
