Giants’ trip to Toronto highlights some of Farhan Zaidi’s surprising moves

TORONTO — Kevin Pillar always thought his last major league at-bat would come with the Blue Jays. Travis Bergen believed his first major league pitch would too.

As the Giants prepare for a rare, two-game interleague series in Toronto, a pair of former Blue Jays are bracing for a strange feeling.

“I guess I envisioned myself playing in the big leagues with them when I was drafted and the opportunity that I got here is something that I never would have dreamed of,” Bergen said.

Bergen, a reliever selected by the Giants in the Rule 5 draft in December, spent the first four years of his professional career in the Blue Jays organization.
