Giants trade for Red Sox outfielder De Aza

LOS ANGELES -- Bobby Evans has spent weeks looking to bolster the Giants' bench. Right before the deadline to acquire players who are postseason-eligible, the Giants made a deal for Red Sox outfielder Alejandro De Aza.

De Aza, 31, is hitting .292 in his first year with the Red Sox, with a .347 on-base percentage, nine doubles, five triples and four homers. He has played all three outfield positions for the Red Sox, but has spent the vast majority of his time in the corners. The Giants will be De Aza's fifth team. He previously played for the White Sox, Orioles and Marlins.
