On Thursday morning, San Francisco Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi told media that the team wanted to acquire a left-handed outfielder, but would prefer to do so via trade rather than free agency.
And on Thursday evening, they did exactly that, as they traded right-handed pitcher Shaun Anderson to the Minnesota Twins in exchange for LaMonte Wade Jr.
Wade has played in each of the last two MLB seasons, and is a career .211/.336/.347 hitter in 113 plate appearances. But it is the Giants, so you can be sure that his walk to strikeout ratio is legit, and it is: Wade has walked 15 times in his career, and struck out 18 times.
