Buster Posey doesn’t need to start looking over his shoulder just yet, but it took just one game for catching prospect Joey Bart to show why the Giants took him second overall in last month’s draft.
In his first official minor league game, Bart crushed a pair of home runs while going 3-for-5 with four RBIs for the Class-A Salem-Kaizer Volcanoes on Wednesday night.
Small sample sizes aside, how’s that for starters?
Bart found his power stroke in his second at-bat, launching a two-run home run to left field to help the Volcanoes on their way to a 15-1 victory over Hillsboro in Salem, Ore.
