Mac Williamson post-concussion simply did not hit the way he did pre-concussion. With the Giants again getting little offense from left field, they made a move Saturday.

They optioned Williamson to Triple-A Sacramento and recalled Austin Slater, who forced his way to the majors by hitting .344 with a .981 OPS, five homers and 32 doubles in 223 plate appearances.

Slater presumably will get a long look in left field, perhaps sharing it with Alen Hanson.
