A night after one of their most crushing defeats, the Giants suffered another huge blow when it was announced closer Hunter Strickland would miss at least 6-8 weeks with a broken right hand.
Strickland punched a door after he was pulled from Monday night’s game against Miami when he blew the save in what turned out to be a 5-4 loss to the Marlins.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Strickland will have surgery on his hand. Bochy expects left-hander Tony Watson and right-hander Sam Dyson to split closer duties while Strickland is out.
