SAN FRANCISCO -- Another former Giant has been added to the Triple-A roster.
The Giants announced Thursday that they have signed right-handed reliever Jean Machi to a minor league deal and he'll report to the Sacramento River Cats. The move comes a week after Travis Ishikawa returned to the organization.
Machi, 34, had a 3.24 ERA in 163 appearances for the Giants from 2012 to 2015. He struggled mightily last season and was designated for assignment in June, spending the rest of the season with the Boston Red Sox and even picking up four saves.
Machi was a minor leaguer with the Cubs this season, but was released earlier this month after getting arrested for public intoxication and urinating in public.
