SAN FRANCISCO–The Giants lost one outfielder in a trade last week, but they signed another right-handed hitting center fielder Friday.
San Francisco agreed to terms on a minor league contract with free agent Peter Bourjos, 31, who was released by the Atlanta Braves last week.
Bourjos will report to Triple-A Sacramento and could earn starts in center field after the River Cats’ outfield depth took a hit when rookie Steven Duggar was promoted to the Giants Sunday.
Duggar was called up from Sacramento to take the roster spot of outfielder Austin Jackson, who was traded to the Texas Rangers after signing a two-year deal with the Giants last offseason.
