The San Francisco Giants selected Jimmy Glowenke with the 68th overall pick in the 2020 MLB Draft on Thursday. Glowenke is a right-handed shortstop from Dallas Baptist.
The Giants used their fourth of seven picks on Glowenke. It came in the compensation round, as the second of two picks the Giants have in the round to make up for losing Madison Bumgarner and Will Smith in free agency.
Glowenke is 21.0 years old, 5’10, and 170 pounds. He’s likely an underslot candidate, so the Giants may be looking to save a little money here and perhaps overslot with some of their final picks.
