SAN FRANCISCO — Giants manager Bruce Bochy isn’t ready to formally announce plans for his pitching staff following the All-Star break, but he indicated on Saturday that ace Madison Bumgarner will start the first game of the second half.
If the Giants send Bumgarner to the mound in Milwaukee on Friday, July 12, it’s possible Saturday’s start against the Cardinals will mark his final home outing with the club at Oracle Park.
Bumgarner’s name has been floated in trade rumors for the last 12 months and the left-hander understands the Giants may include him in a deal ahead of the July 31 trade deadline.
