CHICAGO — In his Triple-A debut last week, the man tasked with bringing the heat could feel the heat.
It wasn’t the 94-degree weather at a 7 p.m. first pitch that made Logan Webb nervous before he took the mound for the Sacramento River Cats.
For the first time this year, the crowd was mostly gathered because of his presence.
Webb grew up in nearby Rocklin, Calif. and said he had a large group of family members and dozens of friends in attendance at Sacramento’s Raley Field on Monday, August 12.
The right-hander joked that everyone else brave enough to deal with a hot weather was a relative of a River Cats teammate.
