The Giants recalled outfielder Jarrett Parker on Monday and optioned outfielder Mac Williamson back down to Triple-A Sacramento River Cats in a corresponding move.
Parker, 27, showed his power potential last season in his time up with the Giants. In 21 games played, Parker hit .347/.407/.755 with six home runs.
As a rookie, Parker had one of the most memorable games in Giants history. Parker hit three homers, including a go-ahead grand slam, in a 14-10 win over the A’s on Sept. 25, 2015.
His hot streak put him in historical context of baseball history.
Parker became the first Giant since Barry Bonds in 2004 to homer five times in nine at-bats.
