SAN FRANCISCO — It’s an even year, and Travis Ishikawa is back in the Giants organization.
The club has re-signed Ishikawa yet again. The left-handed hitting first baseman and left fielder will report to Triple-A Sacramento once he’s ready to provide depth, GM Bobby Evans said.
NBC Bay Area reported the signing earlier Wednesday, citing a family source. Ishikawa hit the home run in Game 5 of the NLCS that sent the Giants to the 2014 World Series. It was the first pennant-clinching home run by a Giant since Bobby Thomson’s “Shot Heard ‘Round the World” in 1951.
