The Giants on Wednesday placed Nori Aoki on the 15-day disabled list with a fractured right fibula, replacing him on the 25-man roster with Travis Ishikawa, whose contract was purchased Triple-A.

Aoki, 33, was hurt in the first inning of Saturday's game in Los Angeles when he got drilled just above his right ankle by a 94-mph Carlos Frias fastball. He limped around the bases and came out of the game before the bottom of the first inning, but he was initially diagnosed with just a lower leg contusion.
