Tim Hudson’s going-away party keeps going. He was honored before Saturday’s game in an on-field ceremony that involved his family, the rest of the Giants and scoreboard messages from past teammates (including Barry Zito), pitching coaches (including Rick Peterson), managers (including Bobby Cox) and GMs (including Billy Beane).
Larry Baer, Bruce Bochy and even Jake Peavy - Saturday’s starting pitcher, of all people - offered words of praise for the 40-year-old who’s retiring.
Lastly, Hudson got to the podium.
“I had hopes of coming here and winning a world championship,” he told the crowd.
