SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Buster Posey, sidelined for two days by a sore neck, is starting behind the plate and batting third against the A's at Mesa on Friday. He said he feels much better.
"It's nothing I haven't had before. Old man neck," Posey said.
Posey is leaving for the World Baseball Classic and plans to cram a lot of work into the next three games. He hopes to travel to Surprise for Saturday's game against the Royals then catch Madison Bumgarner against the Royals in Scottsdale on Sunday before leaving for Florida and Team USA on Monday.
