NEW YORK -- Brandon Belt nearly lost the end of the 2014 season to a concussion, so when Gregor Blanco started asking him questions about dizziness and headaches, Belt immediately went to tell the trainers.
Blanco was pulled from the lineup Tuesday and tested. On Wednesday he was placed on the 7-day concussion disabled list and replaced on the active roster by outfielder Jarrett Parker.
Blanco was hurt Sunday when he ran across the infield during the fourth inning in Philadelphia (as he does every game) and got hit by one of Belt's warm-up throws. The impact knocked Blanco's sunglasses off his hat but he thought it was just a glancing blow and stayed in the game.
