SAN FRANCISCO–Curt Young will watch plenty of baseball on Saturday.
He just won’t watch the final six innings of Saturday afternoon’s contest between the Giants and Dodgers.
Young was ejected during the third inning of the first game of a doubleheader by home plate umpire Tripp Gibson.
The Giants’ first-year pitching coach appeared to be arguing with Gibson over a controversial call Gibson made on a pitch by reliever Roberto Gomez earlier in the inning.
Gomez delivered a two-strike curveball to Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley that was right over the heart of the plate, but the ball popped out of the mitt of catcher Nick Hundley.
