SAN FRANCISCO — Jarrett Parker, who sustained a broken right clavicle while crashing into the left-field wall to make a catch, appears headed for surgery.
Giants Manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday that said the left fielder could have the procedure done within 24-48 hours. There is no timetable for Parker’s return, but Bochy’s rough estimate started at 8 weeks.
In the meantime, the Giants put Parker on the 10-day disabled list and recalled reliever Steven Okert from Triple-A Sacramento. Okert joins Ty Blach as the second left-hander in the Giants bullpen.
As difficult as Parker’s case is, the left fielder thought it might be worse.
