SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Mike Morse, who has not hit well in his bid to make the team after nearly a year out of ball, walked through the Giants clubhouse with a huge grin Wednesday after he golfed a fastball over the left-field fence for a two-run homer against Puerto Rico.
As he headed for the training room he raised his fist and said, "Staying alive another week!"
Morse is one of an unusual number of older players who were invited to camp and must be wondering about their future, and if they are showing enough.
