Giants offense stays frozen in loss — two runs in four games

LOS ANGELES - The Giants have to look at the bright side after the bizarre four-game series that started the 2018, because the alternative is a long and unpleasant off day ahead of Tuesday's home opener against the Mariners.

The Giants played 36 innings at Dodger Stadium without manufacturing a run yet still split the series thanks to two Joe Panik home runs that seemed like ancient history by the time the Dodgers beat the Giants 9-0 Sunday night.

Both teams pitched a pair of shutouts, but the series did not seem even because Dodgers hitters started to figure out this scoring thing over the final two games.
