Giants OF Nori Aoki pulled after getting hit on foot

LOS ANGELES -- Already playing without their starting right fielder, the Giants lost their starting left fielder one inning into Saturday's game.

Nori Aoki was hit on the right foot in the top of the first inning and didn't come out to play defense in the bottom of the inning. Aoki stayed down for a while after getting plunked by the 94 mph Carlos Frias fastball. The leadoff hitter eventually took his place at first and then hobbled to third when Joe Panik followed with a double to right. Aoki limped home when Angel Pagan flied out to deep center, and he was mobbed in the dugout by appreciative teammates.
