SAN FRANCISCO – The Giants entered the season knowing that injuries would be part of the bargain. That’s true for any club. And they had some veteran players – Hunter Pence and Denard Span among them – who had trouble staying off the disabled list in recent years.
But who could’ve foreseen the wave of injuries to young players?
Add right-hander Tyler Beede to the list. He might have been getting close to making his major league debut. Instead, he was scratched from his start for Triple-A Sacramento on Monday because of a groin injury.
Beede will be reevaluated after the River Cats return home.
