NEW YORK – Joe Panik, who grew up a Yankees fan, was looking forward to playing in the House that Jeter Roamed.
Instead of flying to join the Giants on Friday, Panik traveled in the opposite direction back to San Francisco. The Giants’ second baseman “wasn’t feeling great,” according to Giants manager Bruce Bochy, and that’s why Panik didn’t play his scheduled nine innings for Triple-A Sacramento Thursday night in what was supposed to be his final rehab game in New Orleans.

The Giants provided no specifics beyond “not feeling great,” which can lead to assumptions when you’re talking about a player who is on the disabled list with a concussion.
