SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants didn't take batting practice on the field today, but there was a Giant out there an hour before first pitch. Sergio Romo played another game of long toss with bullpen catcher Taira Uematsu, the final step before starting a rehab assignment.
Romo is scheduled to pitch an inning -- or throw about 20 pitches -- for the Sacramento River Cats on Monday. That'll start the "check the boxes" tour. He'll go back-to-back games at some point and then possibly pitch a multi-inning stint. It appears Romo will be back soon, which would leave just one player -- Ehire Adrianza -- on the disabled list.
