PHILADELPHIA – For an affable guy who never raised a fuss in Tampa Bay, Matt Moore had to sidestep a couple of potentially mild controversies when he joined the Giants on Tuesday.
He wore No.55 with the Rays. There was no way he’d demand Tim Lincecum’s number with the Giants.

“Obviously, Tim meant a lot,” said Moore, who had received the number randomly when he broke into the majors with the Rays. “He has a pretty big footprint here.”
So Moore put on his No.45 jersey – and was happy to learn the number has some good mojo, since Travis Ishikawa wore it when hitting his pennant-clinching home run in 2014.
