LOS ANGELES – It’s a special day for Derek Law and his family, after the Giants promoted the right-hander to replace Sergio Romo on the roster.
It’ll be even more special when and if Law actually makes his major league debut.
And yes, there’s a very important distinction between a call-up and a debut. Nobody understands that better than Joe Law, Derek’s father, who was called up twice by the A’s in 1988 and spent four days in a major league uniform but never pitched a game in The Show.
