SAN FRANCISCO – The Giants might be having their most miserable and forgettable season in several generations, but don’t try to take June 28 away from Jae-gyun Hwang.
That’s the magical day when Hwang fulfilled a dream by appearing in his first major league game, and then walked on a cloud after hitting a home run.
If that’s all that Hwang achieves as a big leaguer, then his decision to turn away more lucrative offers in Korea will be worth the sacrifice. His home run against the Rockies easily ranks as the best moment of the Giants’ wasted season, too.
