Giants notes: Hunter Pence has strained hamstring, likely headed to DL

SAN FRANCISCO – The Giants might be losing another one of their everyday players to the disabled list.

Right fielder Hunter Pence underwent an MRI exam on his left hamstring that showed a mild strain, Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. Pence was not in Sunday’s lineup against the Cincinnati Reds at AT&T Park, and if he remains on the active roster, he likely would be limited to pinch hitting duties for several more days.

Bochy was about to meet with GM Bobby Evans to determine whether the club should place Pence on the 10-day disabled list and bring up a healthy player.
