SAN FRANCISCO – The Giants changed the composition of their chaotic bullpen on Wednesday, but not out of exasperation.
The club placed Cory Gearrin on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained right shoulder, one day after the right-hander served up a three-run home run to Colorado’s Nolan Arenado. Right-hander Albert Suarez rejoined the bullpen and could be used anywhere from long relief to a setup role, Giants manager Bruce Bochy said.

As he pledged following their 7-3 loss on Tuesday, Bochy held a summit about the bullpen with coaches Dave Righetti and Mark Gardner.
