Giants notes: Depth tested in catching corps with injuries to Trevor Brown and Andrew Susac; Angel Pagan's solid spring leads to an interesting question; Brewers name opening day starter to oppose Madison Bumgarner

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Giants entered the spring with more depth at catcher than any other position on the diamond.

As the saying goes, you can never have too much depth.

Trevor Brown exited Monday’s exhibition game against the A’s after he was clipped on his right forearm by a Mark Canha swing. X-rays were negative, Brown was diagnosed with a contusion and might miss a day or two.

The most concerning news was that catcher Andrew Susac is no closer to returning to exhibition games because of soreness in his surgically repaired right wrist. Susac had a cortisone injection last week but felt a shooting pain when he tried to take batting practice on Sunday.
