MIAMI – A day after being hospitalized with an irregular heartbeat, Giants manager Bruce Bochy returned to work on Tuesday with a new prescription and a fresh appreciation for his players.
Bochy, who was held under observation overnight Monday, said he watched every pitch of the Giants’ 8-7, 14-inning victory at Marlins Park, which took five hours and 34 minutes to complete.

“That was some of the best medicine I could’ve had, with how hard they fought and the staff, what a great job they did,” Bochy said. “They kept pushing. They kept grinding.
“You get a different perspective watching it on TV.
