SAN FRANCISCO – The Giants have scored the fourth most runs in the National league. The Miami Marlins, under new hitting coach Barry Bonds, have scored the third fewest.
But the Marlins aren’t the club juggling its lineup as this three-game series begins Friday night with the return of baseball’s all-time home run king to his old swatting grounds.
It’s Giants manager Bruce Bochy who is moving around his order, after his team has lost eight of nine and scored three runs in its past three games. Matt Duffy, who was slumping as of 72 hours ago, moves up to third.
