Giants’ notebook: Bumgarner targeting quicker return, Bochy drops Belt from lineup

But Madison Bumgarner was not in Los Angeles.

After undergoing surgery last weekend to have three pins placed in his pitching hand, Bumgarner traveled to Arizona for doctors appointments and checkups to gauge his progress as he recovers from a fractured pinky.

In his final Cactus League start this spring, Bumgarner took a line drive off his hand, displacing the fifth metacarpal and suffering a brutal injury that forced him to start the season on the disabled list.
