Giants minor league pitcher suspended 25 games for drugs

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced on Tuesday that three Minor League players have been suspended following their violations of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

San Francisco Giants Minor League right-handed pitcher Alvaro Diaz has received a 25-game suspension without pay following a violation of the Program. The suspension of Diaz, who is currently on the roster of the rookie-level Arizona League Giants, will be effective at the start of the 2016 season.

Atlanta Braves Minor League right-handed pitcher Steve Borkowski has received a 68-game suspension without pay after testing positive for a metabolite of Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Program.
