For the rest of us, we were treated to a sad/happy poignant reminder on Sunday why we collected baseball cards; decried the trade that didn’t pan out; swore off our allegiance to the team one day and found ourselves sitting in the bleachers the next; declared we could die and go to heaven now that our team had won a World Series — or a series of World Series.
It was a reminder that baseball is just a game — a game that forges lifelong memories and unbreakable bonds.
