KANSAS CITY - Giants manager Bruce Bochy will miss the two-game series in Kansas City after undergoing what the team described as a "minor ablation procedure" to alleviate discomfort caused by an "atrial flutter," or abnormal heart rhythm.
A Giants spokesman said via text that the procedure was successful and Bochy, who turned 62 Sunday, was resting comfortably at his home in San Diego, where he was treated.
Bench coach Ron Wotus will manage the two games here, with Bochy flying to Denver in time for Friday night's series opener against the Rockies.
