SAN FRANCISCO–Bruce Bochy kept the big picture perspective.
While some managers would have focused on what the Giants failed to accomplish in their season-opening series in Los Angeles, San Francisco’s skipper was quick to point out what his team did do.
After losing 98 games a season ago, the Giants opened the year against the reigning National League West champions and split a four-game series, winning two games via shutouts. Of course, the Giants also lost the final two games of the series in disheartening fashion, failing to score a run in either contest and finishing the weekend 1-for-28 with runners in scoring position.
