After just six games with the Giants this season, 2014 postseason hero Travis Ishikawa is headed back to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Designated for assignment by the Giants on Friday, the Pirates claimed Ishikawa, the team announced Sunday.

In just five at-bats with the Giants this season, Ishikawa failed to collect a hit.
He hit .266/.335/.413 with four home runs in 37 games between Single-A San Jose and Triple-A Sacramento this season.
In December 2013, Ishikawa signed with the Pirates and spent the beginning of the 2014 season in the organization until he was granted free agency on April 23, 2014.
